VOIVOD worldwide! Live launch of ‘Katorz’ on www.bandeapart.fm on July 27th, 2006
On Thursday July 27th at 6 p.m. EST, VOIVOD fans and music fans worldwide can catch the gala launch of the unique metal band’s latest album ‘Katorz,’ live on www.bandeapart.fm and on SIRIUS satellite radio (channel 93) with the band. The two-hour audio/video special will also air again Canada-wide at midnight on Espace musique (100.7 FM in Montreal).
This exclusive event presented by Bande à part will enable Internet users and radio listeners to join the band members for a complete listen and discussion of the album (out July 25th on THE END RECORDS), an album assembled with the guitar parts recorded by legendary guitarist Denis ‘Piggy’ D’Amour before his death from cancer last summer.
The Bande à part team has also a memorable surprise in store for the bandmembers in attendance: Snake (Denis Bélanger), Away (Michel Langevin) and Jasonic (Jason Newsted). The audience will discover the special surprise the same time VOIVOD does!
Formed in Jonquiere, Quebec in the early 1980s, the band soon made a name for themselves with metal fans around the world and has become a highly respected band within the metal music scene. The band has released some of the most influential metal albums in their 20+ year career: War and Pain (1984), Nothingface (1989) and The Outer Limits (1993).
