2002.10.26 Voivod recording new album

Voivod Live

To Our Fans,

This past Summer, we were approached about playing on a package tour starting in January. At the time, we only had tentative plans for recording a new album and had no idea when we would have a record ready, so we agreed in principle to participate. We had our good friend Vince on loan from his band, stepping in to play bass for the first shows with Snake in 8 years.
Then, this Fall, things dramatically changed for all of us. Jason joined VOIVOD as a full member and writing of the record intensified and became the sole focus. We are now recording “The Multiverse.”

In short, our plan for VOIVOD changed as it became clear we would have an album to promote early next year, a new member to work into the live show, and a new team with whom to consult. With all of this happening, it is only natural for us to be exploring how best to introduce all of you to the new VOIVOD and our new album. After serious consideration, we decided not to begin touring in January. It is simply too early in the year to coincide with the release of our new album in the Spring. We do plan on organizing a tour, one timed with the release of “The Multiverse.” We hope to see all of you, and all metal fans, out on the road this coming Spring/Summer.

In the meantime, tune into Voivod.net and ChophouseRecords.com for our latest news and announcements, and to watch an ongoing video series called VOIVOD : VID which chronicles the recording of “The Multiverse.”

Keep It Heavy,
Piggy, Away, Snake
