Very true! As individual songs, each have a greatness, but as an entire body of work, all become insurmountable.

Forgotten in Space. It blows me away that this song has never been performed live. I think maybe if they did play it, the world would tear in half and we'd all be screwed. |

Must add mine to the list:
- "Suck your Bone"
- "Ripping Headaches"
- "Order of the Blackguards"
- "Macro solutions to mega problems"
- "The Unknown Knows"
- "Golem"
- "Jack Luminous"
Were I to pick an absolute favorite (very hard task indeed) it would probably be "Jack..." due to the sheer breadth of stuff covered there. |

Inner Combustion--Piggy's efforts to incorporate Jazz into the metal vocabulary just hit the mark on this song.Totally heavy, yet totally mellow and melodic. A pleasure to listen to but doesn't take away from the swing of the song. Long live Voivod! |

I'd have to say the song "Voi Vod" because it introduced me to a great band and it was so loud, noisy, abrasive, punk and just brilliant. It was on a compilation and because of it, I got into Aaargghh!!( hope I spelled it right), Nothingface and Angel Rat. I am also pleased that years later, you go onto the Voi Vod web site and it looks and feels like Voi Vod. |

definitely The Unknown Knows. I love the way it makes me feel.

I will say it is a three way tie between 'The Unknown Knows', 'Panorama' and 'Fix my Heart'
My favorite VOIVOD lyrics are found in the 'Angel Rat' CD.

nuclear war is my fave, if i had to pick just one. it kinda starts off the entire saga of the voivod. the intro is very devastating and well-done and the beat sounds like a death march. the music goes with the topic extremely well. besides megadeth's rust in peace...polaris, this is one of my favorite nuke song (and believe me, there are too many to count!) |

Even though my user name is a Voivod tune, I'd have to choose the most obvious, "Voivod!" |

As i have written before in Posts elsewhere:
Jack Luminous
All VOIVOD Songs are really great, but THAT is the one that has had the most influence on me. |

I'll have to say "Voivod!" on this one since its the first song i heard by the group and turned me onto their other stuff. Nice moody intro, intense and energetic, and very cool.
Goes to show how many cool songs this band has, everyone is picking different tunes, and i'm remembering most as awesome tunes |

DIfficult question. On one hand I agree that VoiVod's music as a whole is just a great compund song. On the other hand I like most the "Nile Song", "Macrosolutions to Megaproblems", "Tornado", "Tribal Convictions" ... ;-)
BTW: I read that the Nile Song is a cover? I didn't know that. Who is the original writer? |
