WARTORN - s/t
Now this is a treat. Regular voivod.net forum users will lap this band up, for Wartorn bare all the classy ingredients associated with such classic bands as Queensryche, DBC, Voivod-era Voivod and Megadeth. Think progressive thrash metal with a cutting edge and you’re coming close to this talented, promising three-piece from Texas.
The musicianship on offer here is superb; tasty guitar work, thumping bass lines and rolling drum rolls throughout, band members Kevin Hollingsworth, Micheal Heald and Kenneth Hill respectively producing the tightest, complex metal it’s been my pleasure to hear in a while. Of the three songs on this demo it’s second track 'Unbecoming' that stands out for this reviewer. It has more hooks in it than Pinhead from the Hellraiser movies.
For those you who like your metal with a touch of class, do yourself a favor and check these guys out.
