LEFT IN ASHES - FOR ALL IS LOST ...
The Florida death metal scene is alive and well, as a new generation of metal-heads proclaims their right to the crown once worn by Obituary et all, and Left in Ashes is among those spearheading the assault.
This 3-track demo, produced by one Erik Rutan, he of Morbid Angel and now Hate Eternal, is a superior slab of extreme metal that should propel LIA into the big league. Coming across as a hybrid mix of Exhorder and Amon Amarth (especially on the melodic death metal third track ‘Torn Between Two Classes’) this is, it must be said, cracking good stuff. Thanks to Rutan’s clear production the listener can hear everything, not to mention the excellent talent behind these scorching tracks. My only gripe is that at 3 songs the demo is too short - more, please!
As for you, the curious metal fan, I do recommend you at least try and get your hands on this all-round professional demo, for Left in Ashes is definitely a name to look out for in the future.
