Its wonderful to see so much people with good taste! No matter wich record we choose as our fav, Rrroooaaarrr or Angel Rat, We all love Voivod and it feels just great! Imagine if we all could meet someday and have a few drinks and laughs. That would Rock! By the way, my fav record is Outer Limits, but I think the milestones in Voivods history are Dimension and Nothingface. |

It's a blessing and a curse that Voivod fans are scattered all over the globe. It would be real cool to get everyone together. It would be like meeting with kindred souls who's faces you don't recognize. We could talk for days about stuff that none of our otherwise closest friends ever could. |

It would have to be killing technology, heavy guitar and drumwork and still intelligent songwriting.ravenous medicine has good riffwork to it.just an all out heavy classic.I never get tired of listening to it. |

hey there...here's an opinion of a german voivod fan:
phobos rocked the shit out of me! so damned heavy, so fucking deep and awesome musicians that if i really should fix it up to one album i'd say phobos.
the live album kicked my ass very hard as well (you see, i dig the more heavy stuff, but love the older albums like angel rat too)
...and well....nothing more to say. i'm quite sad that eric "left the building"...hope we will hear a lot more from him in the near future. beside voivod of course. )
looking forward to a new voivod record.
good luck to everyone!
cheerz

This is almost impossible (they're all great) but I'll say NOTHINGFACE. It just completlely blew me away, unitll then I swore Dimension Hatross was the best albulm available on planet earth. Nothingface caught me by surprise and it has an atmosphere, sound and style that is completely unique and unlike anything since. The concept ,music and lyrics are amazing -when I heard Snake singing ' a merry go-round stuck on muddy ground' I decided this albulm was just way ahead of it's time. Just when metal was getting very predictable and mainstream Voivod broke off and produced a masterpiece. The production and playing on Nothingface are flawless, this albulm expanded my horizons and made me think . I'd rather think.. ALL Voivod albulms are different and take us down a new path, they're all works of art and sound incredible in their own right. Whatever style and form of music Voivod play will always be fantastic because they have the factors that most bands lack- great talent, imagination, integrity, creativeness and an incredible intensity. Expect the unexpectable. |

Dimension Hatross I think is the best Voivod album. It's heavy (but not at all sloppy), very unique and expressive. I think that Angel Rat comes in a close second. Many will disagree with me but I think that it works much better than Nothingface. It's less disjointed (which may not be a good thing depending on your tastes), more fluid and very diverse and melancholy at times. For proof of this I suggest listening to the songs Angel Rat or Golem (or for that matter just about anything else on the album). |

Killing Technology is my favorite. It does a great job blending the aggression from their earlier albums with the adventurous elements of their later works. Simply put, it's one of the best progressive-thrash metal albums ever made!

I'm ripped between Dimension Hatross and The Outer Limits. Both albums are able to reach somewhere that the other albums fail to duplicate. If I must choose only one then I choose Dimension Hatross !!! |

My all time favorite Voivod album is Dimension Hatross!
Followed (man this is hard) by...
Killing Technology
Nothingace
Phobos
RRROOOAAARRR
I still liten to RRROOOAAARRR sometimes and the album still blows my away with it's diesel-fueled, black smoking wall of noise! It was the first Voivod I heard and I haven't been the same since.

Definitely Dimension Hatross. It sounds like
a heavy metal soundtrack to a movie. If I
were to do William Gibson's book Neuromancer
as a movie, I'd want the sound of Dimension
Hatross for my soundtrack. Nothingface runs
a close second for its excellent bass lines
and thoughtful lyrics. Angel Rat runs third.

My favorite VOIVOD album is Nothingface. As much as i like the Outer Limits, Negatron and even Angel Rat, Nothingface is filled with great songs & lyrics from start to finish, the artwork is what i consider Michel's best, and the production is very sharp. This is a classic metal album that every fan should own.

Nothingface just beats hatross.
I haven't bought anything in the last 10 years so I couldn't comment on anything newer than Angel Rat. |
