Voivod fan Ron McGregor sent us some pics of Voivod taken in Montreal on 2012.08.02.
Thank you for the great pictures Ron!
First of all let me just say that my name is not meant in any way to denigrate Chewy who I think is the perfect successor to Piggy in that he manages to emulate Piggy’s sound but also brings something of himself to the table. That being said, I have to say how pleased I am to see Voivid back in fine form and a return to the classic line-up. I have been a huge Voivod fan for about 25 years now, first introduced to the band when I heard Astronimy Domine and then bought Nothingface to hear more of this band “Voivod”. I was immediately attracted to the prog-metal fusion performed in a way like no other band I had heard play before (or since)! I gradually acquired all the other albums and became a loyal fan along the way. I still work out to Jack Luminous… althought the joints are starting to creak at this point… : P… Long live Voivod: Jonquiere’s most valuable export!
